Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, HI (M), has been appointed as the new Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He is set to assume his role on September 30, 2024.
Currently serving as the Adjutant General at Army General Headquarters, Lt Gen Malik has extensive experience, having commanded an infantry division in Balochistan and a brigade in Waziristan. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Sword of Honour.
Lt Gen Malik will succeed Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, who was granted a one-year extension by Pakistan’s previous caretaker government.
