According to Inter-Services Public Relations, the propaganda arm of the Pakistani military, the Pakistan Army has announced the transfer and posting of three three-star generals, including Lt. General Faiz Hameed, who has been assigned Commander Bahawalpur Crop.
According to the statement, Lieutenant General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat has been appointed Commander of the Peshawar Corps in place of Faiz Hameed.
Military Secretary of the Pakistan Army is Lieutenant General Khalid Zia.
Before being appointed Commander Peshawar Corp., Lt Gen. Faiz Hameed oversaw the Inter-Sevices Intelligence (ISI), the country’s highest intelligence organization, from June 2019 until November 2021.
The three top officers have been effectively rotated by the military as of Monday’s announcement.
Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat, Pakistan Army’s military secretary, has been replaced by Lieutenant General Khalid Zia, Commander of Bahawalpur Corp, also known as XXXI Crop.
Lt General Hassan Azhar Hayat was serving as Military Secretary (MS) at GHQ, Rawalpindi since November 2020 when he was promoted to the three-star rank along with Asif Ghafoor and others.
Lt-Gen Asif Ghafoor was appointed Commander Quetta Crop last week.
