According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023, the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) was ranked first among universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). It is currently the fourth-highest-ranked Pakistani university on the most recent list, with a ranking in the 601–800 range.
29 Pakistani universities were listed in the ranking of higher education institutions, which included 1,799 universities from 104 different countries.
AWKUM performed extremely well in the research, citations, and international outlook categories, moving up 80 rankings from the previous year in the area of citation, from 268 to 180.
This emphasizes the faculty’s efforts, who put in countless hours and produced high-caliber research.
The THE granted an extra 24 Pakistani institutions with the status of “Reporter” in addition to the 29 universities that were included in the ranking, indicating that they provided the necessary data for evaluation but did not meet THE’s requirements for inclusion on the 2023 list.
The Time Higher Education University Rankings use 13 performance metrics to evaluate an institution’s performance in four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international view.
