Mari Petroleum Limited has announced the successful discovery of a gas well in Sindh’s second Ghazij deposit.
According to the details, the corporation drilled down to a depth of 1,014 meters and said in a statement that the exploration had yielded encouraging results.
The drilling process is expected to produce an amazing 6.57 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, adding significantly to the region’s energy supplies.
Pakistan’s oil and gas sector, Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has reported a gas pressure of 306 pounds per square inch in the Ghazij formation. The company, with a 100% working interest, is set to commence test production from the well pending completion of regulatory formalities.
Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made a significant discovery in the Sinjhoro Block, located in Sindh’s Sanghar district. This marks the second oil and gas discovery for OGDCL within the week.
The discovery at Kot Nawab in Sinjhoro Block yields 125 barrels of oil per day, 0.483 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, and 400 barrels of water per day.
OGDCL operates the Sinjhoro Block with a 76% stake, and it has joint venture partners in Orient Petroleum Inc (19%) and Government Holdings Private Limited (5%). These details were disclosed in OGDCL’s stock filing at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
