The long march 5 carrier rocket is china’s heaviest lift launch vehicle which has been used experimentally three times and now China’s dubbed Tianwen-1 is aiming to land a rover in order to get scientific data. It launched its first crewed mission in 2003. China has been extremely ambitious about its space program since the beginning of time. Several astronauts have been sent to the space station for experimental purposes in order to explore the side of moon unexplored yet. Such missions work as a stepping stone in seeking as much information about Mars and exploring the planet.
The advantage is that every 26 months there comes one month window where the earth comes in alignment with Mars which reduces its travel cost and fuel consumption. Even in the middle of the pandemic, the preparations have not halted. The spacecraft is expected to travel 480 million kilometres before reaching Mars next February. The USA, UAE, Japan, Europe and Russia have also been indulged in sending spacecraft for the very purpose of exploration in the disguise of space dominance.
The continuous process of however exploring the ancient history of Mars nurturing some form of life and having natural resources of water before becoming a freezing ball is also under investigation.
