MIAN CHANNU – Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil has awarded Rs500,000 to javelin star Arshad Nadeem in recognition of his Olympic gold medal.
Jamil shared photos on Instagram of the presentation, which took place during a dinner at his home. He also hosted Nadeem at the Mian Channu Tablegi Markaz, where Nadeem offered a prayer.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz personally visited Nadeem’s village to honor his achievement. Arriving by helicopter and continuing by motorcade, she presented Nadeem with a cash prize of Rs100 million and a car, celebrating his historic win and its significance for Pakistan after a long wait for an Olympic medal.
