Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick, international coaches assigned to Pakistan’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore after a portfolio shift in November 2023, have resigned from their jobs.
Mickey Arthur was appointed Director of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team in April 2023, while Bradburn was named Head Coach of the Pakistan Men’s National Team earlier this year.
From April 2023, the ex-South African cricketer Puttick took on the role of Pakistan’s batting coach.
Before his recent position, Mickey Arthur led the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team as the head coach from 2016 to 2019. Under his guidance, Pakistan reached the pinnacle of the ICC Test team rankings and secured victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Arthur has an extensive coaching background in international cricket, having previously served as the head coach for South Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
Bradburn, aged 57, a former New Zealand cricketer who played in 18 international matches from 1990 to 2001, served as the fielding coach of the Pakistan men’s team between 2018 and 2020. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Head of High-Performance Coaching at NCA until October 2021.
During his tenure as head coach, Pakistan achieved the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI team rankings in May 2023. All three individuals, including Bradburn, have informed the Pakistan Cricket Board of their decision to step down from their respective positions by the end of January 2024.
The departure was amicable, and the PCB expresses gratitude for their services, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
