The authorities have cautioned that the water level in the Sutlej is constantly rising as India releases 100,000 cusecs of current into the river.
In this context, Pakistan has received an emergency warning letter from New Delhi.
A current of 100,000 cusecs has entered Pakistan via the Ferozepur Barrage, according to the letter. According to the letter, another current of 190,000 cusecs is travelling towards Ferozepur from Harike Barrage.
The Kasur district administration has issued a high warning for Ganda Singhwala.
Sutlej is in a low-level flood near Ganda Singhwala, according to a PDMA spokesman.
He further stated that Ganda Singhwala is experiencing a flood current of 69,220 cusecs.
A moderate to high-level flood is likely in Ganda Singhwala over the next 24 hours, according to the spokeswoman.
He also stated that India is scheduled to release further water until August 20.
The Sutlej River threatens the districts of Okara, Kasur, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Vehari, Lodhran, Multan, and Bahawalpur.
Imran Qureshi, Director General of the PDMA, has directed district administrations to complete all preventive measures.
