Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousaf has stepped down from his role as a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee, citing personal reasons. Yousaf, who held the position for six months, expressed pride in contributing to the development of the national squad.
In a statement, Yousaf said, “It has been a privilege to serve this incredible team, and I am proud to have played a part in the growth and success of Pakistan cricket. I have immense faith in the talent and spirit of our players and wish the team all the best as they strive for greatness.”
Yousaf was appointed to the selection committee in March 2024. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had restructured the committee to include seven members, all sharing equal authority. This change followed Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup, which led to the removal of Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the committee, while Yousaf, Asad Shafiq, and Bilal Afzal remained.
The PCB also relieved Wahab Riaz of his duties as senior team manager, alongside team manager Rana Mansoor, due to concerns over discipline during recent tours.
