Prepare to watch a football match on the moon as early as 2035. However, the game may be played differently than on Earth.
The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has proposed an innovative proposal for hosting a football match on the moon. According to the expert’s idea, the format will involve five-a-side contests in four 10-minute quarters with a 20-minute break between each to allow each player to relax.
Furthermore, the boots and shorts would have to be replaced with cumbersome Apollo-style spacesuits with enhanced cooling capabilities. Because hologram referees patrol the football stadiums for vision, announcing virtual red or yellow flags, the referees will resemble the technological nature of VAR more than on Earth.
According to Brian David Johnson, scientists and engineers have critical roles in moulding the future, including space travel, which will require a large number of skilled young people in the future.
