LAHORE: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has received additional comfort following his release in the narcotics case as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has terminated the assets investigation against him. Details indicate that the NAB Lahore has decided to end its investigation into Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for acquiring properties outside of his known sources of income. After the NAB Amendments Ordinance, according to sources within the NAB, the investigation of Rana Sanaullah cannot be continued. Sanaullah’s assets were to be investigated, according to the bureau, on December 20, 2019.
According to sources, the agency has sent the file to the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for final approval.
On December 10, it should be mentioned that an anti-narcotics special court cleared Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in a case involving drug recovery last week. Additionally, the Court for Control of Narcotic Substances cleared other defendants in the case. Sanaullah had entered a plea in court, asking for his release in the drug recovery case. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) detained the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader on July 1, 2019, on the Islamabad-Lahore motorway close to the Sukheki junction.
