ISLAMABAD – Today, September 7, Pakistan proudly observes Air Force Day, honoring the courageous defenders of the nation’s airspace during the 1965 war with India.
Despite limited resources, Pakistani pilots displayed remarkable bravery in the 1965 war, not only repelling Indian air assaults but also delivering a decisive defeat. Their unmatched aerial combat skills and unwavering resolve remain a symbol of national pride.
The legendary PAF ace, Air Commodore Muhammad Mahmood Alam, famously shot down five Indian Air Force Hawker Hunter fighters in under a minute, a feat still celebrated in the history of aerial warfare.
The day began with special prayers and Quran recitations, paying tribute to the martyrs of the 1965 war and those who have sacrificed their lives for Pakistan since its independence.
