At a press conference, Federal Minister for Information and Technology, Shibli Faraz announced that there will be construction projects starting from the end of December ‘2020, worth RS 400 billion. A press conference with the presence of special assistant to PM on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Dr Sania Nishtar also highlighted that a large scale project that includes houses and apartments will also begin in early October’20, starting from RS 145 billion. A further plan came forward that talked about how the prime minister will be holding meetings every week with the stakeholders involved in the construction projects to have an open discussion about the process and issues. The project Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme has been started earlier in order to promote and provide low-cost housing. It will be a stepping stone in introducing mortgage system in Pakistan.
The government is not only working in creating housing schemes but it will bring employment opportunities and investment. Prime Minister Imran Khan has further announced RS 30 billion subsidies for the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. So that the unprivileged class is not deprived of the opportunity of a roof.
