PSL 2022 has been allowed to hold full capacity crowds in Lahore and Karachi stadiums. Only vaccinated people will be allowed to enter.
The buzz of local cricket with international stars is set to reach its former glory as Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 has been allowed to hold full capacity crowds in Lahore and Karachi stadiums. The green light has been given by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). According to reports in local media, NCOC has said that people who are vaccinated against coronavirus will be allowed to enter the stadium and watch the games while following relevant SOPs. All individuals above the age of 12 will need to be vaccinated to get inside the stadium.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will also design a system for exclusively distributing tickets to those who have been vaccinated. The PCB would be responsible for security arrangements for cricket matches and the implementation of SOPs at the cricket ground. Spectators at the cricket stadium would be required to wear masks and maintain social distance.
Pakistan is set to host all the matches of the seventh edition of the PSL. Only two venues have been selected which will now hold 100 percent crowds in them, these are National Stadium in Karachi and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Gaddafi Stadium has an official capacity to hold 27,000 spectators while the National Stadium Karachi can hold up to 40,000 people. PSL 7 is scheduled to kick off on the 27th of January 2022.
