The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIAP) has achieved a significant milestone with the successful test landing of a calibration aircraft on its newly constructed runway. The aircraft was welcomed with a water cannon salute by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority’s (PCAA) Rescue and Fire Fighting Services Department.
This accomplishment is the result of collaborative efforts between Chinese and Pakistani project teams, led by Mr. Ding Kan PD-CACC and Director General Airport Services Sadiq Ur Rehman, respectively. The Technical Directorates of PCAA and the Flight Inspection Unit (FIU) have also played a crucial role in achieving this milestone.
The airport is expected to be completed and operational in the fourth quarter of this year, transforming the development of Gwadar and its surrounding areas, and improving the lives of the people of Balochistan Province and the Coastal Region.
