Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain provided a briefing of the e-voting machine, joint progress of COMSATS and the National Institute of Electronics (NIE), as well as its operation and main features.
The National Institute of Electronics (NIE) says that newly constructed electronic voting machines would eliminate rigging during general elections.
The prime minister stressed to equip the electronic computer with modern technology based security features, while utilizing the experiences of developed countries.
The e-voting machine was developed by NIE in partnership with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and COMSATS University earlier this month.
