The Emirate has introduced a new initiative known as the “family group visa,” which simplifies the process for parents and their children to apply for entry permits together through authorized travel agencies.
One of the most appealing benefits of these visas is the exemption of visa fees for children under 18 years old when they travel with their parents as a group. This enticing offer is accessible through approved travel agencies both within and outside the UAE, making it an attractive option for families planning to visit the Emirate.
The family group visa can be obtained for a duration of 30 to 60 days, with the possibility of extending it for a maximum of 120 days. To apply, applicants are required to provide a passport copy with a minimum validity of six months and a passport-sized photograph to the authorized travel agent.
In terms of costs, a 30-day visa for a parent typically ranges from Dh350 to Dh500 on average, and the service charge and insurance for a child fall within the Dh80 to Dh120 range. For a 60-day visa for a single person, the fee averages between Dh500 and Dh650, with service charges, including insurance, ranging from Dh130 to Dh170, as reported by Zawya.
It is important to note that the family visa can be extended without the need to exit the country, but a full visa fee must be paid for children in such cases.
