Nothing Expands Its Smartphone Lineup with the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro

Nothing has officially introduced the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, two mid-range smartphones designed to deliver premium features at highly competitive prices. While both models share a similar core design and hardware, the Pro version offers an enhanced camera system, additional features, and a slightly refined build to cater to users seeking more advanced capabilities.

Sleek Design and Immersive Display

The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro feature a 6.77-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and an impressive peak brightness of 1,300 nits for vibrant visuals. The Pro model further enhances durability with Panda Glass protection, ensuring better resistance to scratches and accidental drops.

A key highlight of the series remains Nothing’s signature Glyph Interface, which utilizes LED lights on the back for customizable notifications and smart interactions. Additionally, both models come with IP64 water and dust resistance and an Essential Key integrated into the power button for quick shortcuts.

The color options vary between models:

  • Phone (3a): Black, White, and Blue (Blue is unavailable in the US)
  • Phone (3a) Pro: *Black and Grey only

Performance and Software

Both devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, ensuring efficient performance and battery optimization. Storage and RAM configurations include:

  • Phone (3a): 8GB/128GB or 12GB/256GB
  • Phone (3a) Pro: 12GB/256GB

Running on NothingOS 3.1 (based on Android 15), the company guarantees three major Android updates and six years of security patches, ensuring long-term software support.

Advanced Camera System

A significant differentiator between the two models is the camera system.

Phone (3a) Pro Camera Setup:

  • 50MP main sensor (1/1.56” sensor, f/1.88, OIS)
  • 50MP periscope telephoto lens (3x optical zoom, AI-enhanced 6x zoom)
  • 8MP ultrawide lens
  • 50MP front camera for high-resolution selfies

Phone (3a) Camera Setup:

  • 50MP main sensor (same as Pro)
  • 50MP 2x zoom lens (instead of a periscope telephoto lens)
  • 8MP ultrawide lens
  • 32MP front camera (downgraded from Pro’s 50MP)

Battery and Charging

Both models house a 5,000mAh battery with 50W fast wired charging, reaching 50% in just 19 minutes, making them some of the fastest-charging devices in their segment.
