Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) informed investors on Monday that it has found oil and gas in the Sanghar area of Sindh in an exploratory well known as Chak-5 Dim South-3.
The business stated in a regulatory filing that drilling activities at the exploratory well had started on June 26 using the internal expertise of the OGDCL. It was also stated that the well was drilled 3,400 meters deep.
“Based on the results of wireline logs interpretation, Drill Stem Test-1 in the massive sand has tested 2000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) & 1.30 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) gas through choke size 32/64 inches at wellhead flowing pressure (whfp) of 994 pounds per square inch (Psi),” it stated in the filing.
According to the document, the OGDCL is the well’s operator and has a 100% stake in it.
According to the business, the discovery had created “a new pathway, would favorably contribute to alleviating energy demand and supply shortages from indigenous resources, and will add to the hydrocarbon reserves base of OGDCL and the country.”
In the Tando Allah Yar district of Sindh, the business earlier this year found oil and gas at an exploration well known as Nim East-1.
The OGDC is a public limited business that has spent the previous 50 years doing exploration and production activities in the nation.
