Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), a prominent state-owned exploration and production company in Pakistan, announced a significant gas and condensate discovery at Dars West Well #02 in Tando Allahyar District, Sindh.
The joint venture, led by OGDCL as the operator, reported a successful exploration into “C” Sands of the lower Goru formation. The well, drilled to a depth of 2,081 meters, yielded a test output of 8.51 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas and 360 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate.
This discovery aligns with OGDCL’s aggressive exploration strategy and is expected to contribute to the company’s and the country’s hydrocarbon reserves. In the previous month, OGDCL completed the Khewari Project in Sindh, with a potential gas production of 10 mmscfd.
The company’s latest financial results for 1QFY24 show net sales of Rs 120.141 billion and a Profit before Taxation of Rs 86.174 billion.
