Following a process of scrutiny, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub Khan has been appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA).
The NA secretariat issued a notification confirming Ayub’s appointment as the opposition leader in the Lower House of Parliament.
This development transpired after Omar Ayub, along with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Aamer Dogar, met with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. During the meeting, Sadiq assured Ayub that a notification would be issued regarding his appointment.
The appointment of the Leader of the Opposition and the Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly faced delays due to disagreements within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding these positions.
Expressing gratitude after his appointment as the opposition leader in the NA, Omar Ayub Khan thanked PTI founder Barrister Gohar and other party members for placing their trust in him for the post.
Ayub reiterated his stance, stating that those authorized by ‘Form 47’ were allowed to form a government.
