Tipster Digital Chat Station has lately been on a tear with smartphone leaks. According to his most recent rumor, Oppo intends to integrate two of Sony’s new IMX766 sensors in its upcoming top phone.
As per his sources, Oppo will collaborate with American camera manufacturer Kodak on its upcoming flagship handset. This enigmatic flagship phone will pay homage to the iconic Kodak camera style.
As previously stated, the Sony IMX766 50MP, 1/1.5′′ sensor will be at the core of the camera system on this phone. Like the Oppo Find X3 Pro, it will have an incredibly huge sensor behind the optical zoom camera. The telephoto camera will be a 13MP snapper with 2x zoom, presumably brought over from the Oppo Find X3 Pro.
Given all this info, we can assume that most of the camera setup will be like the Oppo Find X3 Pro, meaning that we can also expect similar camera performance. However, there is also going to be Kodak’s optimization involved which will hopefully improve the results even further.
There are no other details about Oppo’s upcoming flagship at the moment, but we suspect that more information will surface soon.
