The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) has reported that in 2023, a total of 11,000 Palestinians were arrested, encompassing 1,085 children and 300 women.
According to PPS, these figures closely resemble the detainment rates observed during the early years of the second Intifada in 2001-2002.
Since October 7, at least 5,500 Palestinians have been arrested, with 355 children and 184 women among them. Presently, Israeli jails are holding 8,800 Palestinians, with 3,291 individuals detained without specific charges.
