Through the health card program, free medical care has now been provided to more than two million people in Punjab.
Imran Sikandar Baloch, the Punjab Health Secretary, revealed information pertaining to the program on Thursday, noting that residents of the province have received free medical services totaling more than Rs36.55 billion. The card has been endorsed by at least 808 public and private hospitals to offer free medical services in Punjab.
The Sehat Sahulat Card has provided free dialysis to more than 432,000 people in Punjab to far. Additionally, more than 45,000 people have taken advantage of coronary angiography, more than 36,000 women have undergone normal childbirth, and 155,000 people have undergone cesarean operations.
According to the provincial secretary, the card had allowed 29,000 people in Punjab to have free hernia surgery, 27,000 chemotherapy treatments, and 155,000 angioplasty procedures.
On the direction of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the numbers were provided by the specialized healthcare and medical education.
The provincial secretary stated that through the Sehat Sahulat Card Scheme, the government was attempting to offer as many free treatment options as possible to the residents of Punjab.
