The joint aerial exercise “Zilzal-II” between the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Qatar Emiri Air Force has commenced in Qatar. This collaborative exercise, first initiated in 2020, focuses on enhancing interoperability and shared learning between the two allied nations.
Zilzal-II is recognized as one of the most intricate joint air force exercises, simulating realistic aerial warfare scenarios to test the operational readiness of both Air Forces. The exercise plays a crucial role in improving joint planning mechanisms and solidifying the defense partnership between Pakistan and Qatar.
Notably, PAF’s recently inducted state-of-the-art J-10C fighter aircraft will engage in its first-ever face-off against Eurofighter jets of the Qatar Emiri Air Force during the exercise. This achievement aligns with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu’s modernization plan for the PAF, emphasizing smart inductions and focused indigenization.
The rapid acquisition and operationalization of the advanced J-10C fighter jets underscore PAF’s commitment to maintaining a technologically advanced and formidable air force capable of meeting evolving challenges and defending Pakistan’s airspace effectively.
Exercise Zilzal-II not only strengthens military capabilities but also fosters understanding, cooperation, and friendship between the Pakistan Air Force and Qatar Emiri Air Force. This collaboration contributes to regional stability and security, reflecting PAF’s dedication to its mission of safeguarding the skies and promoting peace through international cooperation.
