Due to an ongoing lack of imported parts, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) has prolonged the production shutdown from January 9–13.
According to a statement, PSMC sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday, “The management of the firm has decided to extend the shutdown of the vehicle plant from January 9, 2023, to January 13, 2023, due to the continuous lack of inventory level.”
However, the motorcycle plant would remain operative, it added.
The company had earlier stopped all manufacturing from January 2 to January 6. The company claimed that restrictions imposed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) are having an impact on its supply chain.
According to the company, conditional approval has an impact on export shipments, and the inventory was damaged by the restriction.
A restriction on the importation of completely knocked-down (CKD) kits by the central bank prompted Indus Motor Company (IMC) to announce earlier in the month that it would close its manufacturing facility for ten days.
