Ramiz Raja, chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has appealed with cricket fans to support the Men in Green and have faith in them as the clock counts down to the thrilling conclusion of the seven-match home T20 series against England.
In an interview with Geo News, Ramiz reaffirmed that the Men in Green will not accept defeat as Pakistan looks to win the series in the nail-biting match set to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium tonight (Sunday) at 7:30 p.m.
As there are multiple match-winners on the team, not just one, the former cricketer and analyst predicted that Pakistan would not let them down.
He did, however, ask that people be more accepting and understanding of the team’s decisions because they are still learning and may make more mistakes.
“We are not the best team in the world but cricket is spreading happiness,” he said.
Ramiz continued by saying that the reason supporters are coming to the stadiums to watch games is because they have begun to take pride in their national team.
In spite of the fact that the series consisted of seven T20 matches between two teams, the PCB chair noted that interest in the series continued to grow up until the final game.
Ramiz further stated that the interest hasn’t faded away because the team’s temperament is improving and the bilateral series featured matches where the winners were decided in the last overs. “Thrilling matches are the reason behind pumped-up interest among the fans,” he concluded.
