The New Zealand squad led by Tom Latham arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday to begin an ODI and T20 series. During the tour, the Kiwis will compete in five 50-over matches and an equal number of T20Is.
The Blackcaps team arrived at the airport in Lahore today, and under heavy security, they were taken to the hotel. The players will take two days off from practice before returning on April 13.
Lahore (April 14, 15, 17) and Rawalpindi will host the five-game Twenty20 series against New Zealand (April 20, 24). Both Rawalpindi (April 27, 29) and Karachi will host ODI matches (May 3, 5, 7).
NZ all-rounder Daryl Mitchell stated that they are very enthusiastic about the T20 and ODI series in Pakistan after arriving in the country. The team includes young players who have never played in similar circumstances before.
The player described the Pakistan visit as “difficult,” adding that Pakistan has a world-class team. Young players will acquire experience here since the circumstances are very different from New Zealand, he said.
“The series is quite long. We will try to play good cricket.”
