Pakistan’s Pakeeza Khan and Asra Gul clinched gold in their respective categories as the Combaxx Asian Open International Taekwondo Championship G2 opened with contests among juniors at the Liaquat Gymnasium on Tuesday.
In the women’s -63kg competition, Pakeeza beat compatriot Nuzra Jamal by a score of 2-0, while Asra won over Aiwa Nadeem by the same score in the women’s -55kg competition.
Aiman Khan could’ve won the third gold for the hosts but went down 2-1 to Yara Binthani of Bahrain in the women’s -49kg category.
Omer Ismail of the United Arab Emirates downed Bahrain’s Mohammad Muath 2-0 in the men’s -63kg competition.
