The Pakistan Army and Indonesian Armed Forces completed their joint military exercise, Elang Strike-II, on September 16, 2024, at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, Pakistan, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The week-long exercise, held from September 8 to September 16, focused on counter-terrorism training and the mutual exchange of expertise between the two nations. This marked the second joint exercise between Pakistan and Indonesia in the counter-terrorism domain.
The exercise was designed to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the two armies, fostering stronger ties between the nations. Senior Pakistani Army officials and Indonesia’s defense attaché, Col. Budi Wirman, attended the closing ceremony.
Pakistan regularly holds joint exercises with friendly nations, aiming to improve joint deployment strategies and counter-terrorism capabilities. The country, which has faced militancy challenges for decades, also provides specialized military training to cadets from allied nations annually.
