Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation in the Middle East following Iran’s attack on Israel, labeling it a “failure of diplomacy.”
The Foreign Office highlighted the need for de-escalation and stability, emphasizing the grave implications when diplomatic efforts break down. The statement came after Tehran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel in retaliation to an Israeli airstrike on its Damascus consulate, which resulted in casualties, including senior Iranian commanders.
Pakistan urged all parties to exercise restraint and move towards de-escalation, emphasizing the importance of international efforts to prevent further hostilities and restore peace. Several other countries, including China and Saudi Arabia, echoed similar calls for calm and restraint.
The UN Security Council and G7 leaders are set to discuss the situation, reflecting the seriousness of the ongoing crisis.
