On Saturday (today), the country will celebrate Eidul Fitr with great religious devotion and fervour.
The day began with the Eid prayer shortly after the Fajr prayer, followed by sermons and big gatherings. In their sermons, the ulema emphasized the significance and philosophy of Eidul Fitr.
People dressed up in traditional attire and offered Eid prayers at their neighborhood mosques like they do every year. People hugged their families, relatives, and neighbors, wishing them a joyous and prosperous Eid.
Special prayers were offered in mosques across the country for the nation’s prosperity and expansion.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Shareef and President Arif Alvi also wished the nation a merry Eid and urged citizens to exhibit compassion and special care for those in need while enjoying the holiday.
President Arif Alvi offered his Eid prayer at Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque, praying for the country’s peace, progress, and prosperity.
He also urged his countrymen to contribute to the country’s political and economic stability. “While Ramadan instills piety in us, it also makes us aware of the sufferings, hunger, and distress of others,” President Alvi added.
“This realization can be the foundation for eradicating poverty and injustice in any society,” he added. “On this occasion of Eid, we should pledge that we will carry these qualities of piety and realization with us throughout the year and play our role in making society prosperous,” the president said.
In a separate message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Eid-ul-Fitr provides an opportunity for the practical embodiment of the spirit of patience, contentment, and consideration for others.
He invited people to share Eid’s joy with all those who are oppressed by adversity.
The prime minister stated that the coalition government is constantly working to alleviate the people’s economic difficulties.
He also asked people to remember the flood victims on the occasion of Eid by donating generously to them.
Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the sacrifices of martyrs who gave their lives in the struggle against terrorism and expressed heartfelt condolences to their families.
He showed his support for the people of Palestine and Kashmir in their battle for independence.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the service chiefs congratulated the country on Eid ul Fitr.
