During the previous PML-N regime, the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) signed an agreement to build an HPR1000 Hualong One reactor at the Chashma nuclear power facility.
The project sought to construct a one-million-kilowatt-class nuclear power unit using HPR1000 technology at the South Asian nation’s Chashma Nuclear Power Plant.
Chashma, in the country’s most populous region, is home to four Chinese-made CNP-300 aircraft.
