According to a UN statement, Pakistan is one of the longest-serving and largest contributors to UN peacekeeping. Furthermore, it is also taking part in an ongoing mission in the Central African Republic.
Pakistan has been playing its part in United Nations peacekeeping mission since 1960 in congo. Consequently, more than 200,000 Pakistani soldiers have participated in 60 missions in 28 countries.
Moreover in a UN mission in the Central African Republic, also known to be MINUSCA, issued pictures of Pakistani Battalion in the country’s Kaga-Banoro region, destroying cartridges, rockets and other ammunition, on Tuesday Evening.
Similarly, Pakistani Women are also seen actively Playing their part on the US peace missions. Pakistan has achieved the UN goal by sending 15 percent of female staff officers to these missions. Hence, now successfully 450 Pakistani women are seen to be participating in the mission of various countries around the globe.
“Pakistan is a leader in championing women peacekeepers and an example for other troop contributors,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated portraying his appreciation and gratitude during his visit to Pakistan.
