In the initial nine months of 2023, Pakistan has excelled as the “Best performing destination” in the realm of tourism, achieving an impressive 92% recovery to pre-pandemic levels, according to the ‘World Tourism Barometer’ released by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
The country witnessed a remarkable 115% surge in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the previous year, signaling a robust recovery post-Covid.
The strategic efforts in tourism promotion, active participation in global events, and the introduction of the “Salam Pakistan” tourism brand in August 2023 all played significant roles in attracting diverse visitors from around the world.
Projections indicate that Pakistan’s tourism receipts will reach $1.3 billion by the year-end, positioning the country as a beacon in the resurgence of global tourism.
