Pakistan won the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for the first time on Wednesday, defeating Japan 2-1 at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia.
Nadeem Ahmed scored the first goal in the first quarter, but it was equalized when Japan scored in the second quarter.
Sufyan Khan scored a goal in the 10th minute of the second quarter, restoring Pakistan’s lead and securing the victory.
Pakistan will play China on September 12, followed by India on September 14.
