Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah visited on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Thursday on the sidelines of the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The prime minister highlighted the strategic importance of Pakistan’s close brotherly relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are based on shared cultural history and interests.
The two sides also discussed regional developments. Prime Minister Kakar emphasized that the two countries’ close brotherly connections contributed to regional stability.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar visited Switzerland to attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. Upon arrival in Zurich, he was warmly received by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to Geneva, Bilal Ahmed, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Amir Shaukat, and senior diplomatic officials.
During the meeting, the prime minister aimed to deepen bilateral engagement with Saudi Arabia, focusing on trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.
He expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and emphasized the high regard the people of Pakistan have for the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia.
At the WEF, Prime Minister Kakar was scheduled to deliver a keynote address on the theme “Trade Tech’s Trillion Dollar Promise.” This signifies the importance of exploring the potential economic impact of technological advancements in trade.
The visit to Davos presented an opportunity for Pakistan to engage on global economic issues and foster international cooperation.
