Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the need to bolster economic ties between Pakistan and Iran during his official visit to Islamabad. Raisi, alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressed the media, expressing mutual commitment to elevate trade volume between the two nations to $10 billion, citing the current level as insufficient.

Acknowledging the historical and cultural bonds between Pakistan and Iran, President Raisi emphasized the importance of enhancing economic, commercial, and cultural relations. He underscored shared objectives in combating terrorism and various security challenges, emphasizing a joint determination to address such threats.

Raisi highlighted Iran’s resilience in the face of Western sanctions, noting the nation’s ability to turn challenges into opportunities. He expressed hope that his visit would further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation.

The Iranian president also extended gratitude to Pakistan for its solidarity with the people of Gaza and its condemnation of Israel’s actions, praising Pakistan’s unwavering stance on the matter.

Overall, President Raisi’s visit underscores the enduring friendship and shared interests between Pakistan and Iran, with both nations aiming to deepen their cooperation across various fronts.
