A Pakistani delegation, headed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, is currently attending a crucial session of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in Germany.
The delegation, which includes officials from the foreign and finance ministries and other senior officials concerned, is seeking to have Pakistan removed from FATF’s “grey list” of countries with insufficient controls over money laundering and terrorist financing.
The four-day meeting of the financial watchdog will conclude today with the announcement of its decision on the grey list. As Pakistan has implemented 26 out of 27 items on the action plan it first committed to in June 2018, the chances of the country getting out of the grey list have become clear.
