Pakistan Makes a Record Earning of $2615 Million From IT Service Exports in 2021-22

During the 12 months of fiscal year 2021–2022, Pakistan made $2,615.815 million by offering various information technology (IT) services in other nations.

According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), this represents a gain of 24.10 percent when compared to the $2,107.800 million in services revenue obtained during the same time of fiscal year 2020–21. The export of computer services increased by 26.40 percent from July to June of this fiscal year, going from $1,666.310 million to $2,106.145 million.

The exports of computer services increased overall by 43.43 percent, from $554.612 million to $795.480 million, and by 429.58 percent, from $0.551 million to $2.918 million, for software consultation services and hardware consultancy services, respectively.

While the exports of repair and maintenance services increased to $1.446 million from $0.662 million, the export and import of services connected to computer software also increased by 34.87 percent, from $417.485 million to $563.071 million. The exports of other computer services also increased, moving from $693 million to $743.230 million, a 7.25 percent gain.

In the meantime, from $3.990 million to $5.230 million, the export of information technology services climbed by 31.08 percent over the period under consideration. While other information service exports climbed by 5.69 percent, from $1.686 million to $1.782 million, news agency services exports increased by 49.65 percent, from $2.304 million to $3.448 million. The data showed that during the year under review, the export of telecommunication services increased by 15.30 percent, rising from $437.500 million to $504.440 million.

According to PBS statistics, the export of contact center services, which grew from $154.554 million to $215.501 million during the period under review, increased by 39.43 percent, while the export of other telecommunication services increased by 2.12 percent, from $282.946 million to $288.939 million.
