Pakistan has recently achieved a milestone successfully in the fisheries side by setting up the very first state of the art refrigerated sea water fishing boat.
Engineer Dr Zahid Ayub, the international awards’ Recipient and also the US-based Pakistani belonging to Parachinar in his presentation to Iftikhar Ali Malik, the President of SAARC Chamber said that “we have built it; however, now after meeting all the international standards and the successful trials now we put it into operation at the Karachi harbor.”
He also said that under this Refrigerated Sea Water System the sea water is as cool as to zero degree centigrade; however, the fish is kept at this cool temperature until it arrives at the harbour by maintaining its freshness as well as the hygiene.
Moreover, he further said that this technique will benefit poor fishermen of Pakistan; however, it will also change the socio-economic condition by exporting the fishes besides boosting the fisheries sector because now fishes will not get spoiled at any cost due to the high cooling temperature.
