Major Squad Overhaul as PCB Focuses on Young Talent
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Salman Ali Agha as the new T20I captain for the upcoming New Zealand tour. The announcement was made by the national team’s interim head coach, Aaqib Javed, during a press conference in Lahore.
In another key development, Shadab Khan has made his return to the squad and will serve as vice-captain under Agha’s leadership.
Big Names Dropped in Major Shakeup
The T20I squad has undergone significant changes, with former captains Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan being dropped. Speaking on the decision, Aaqib Javed stated that the board is shifting its approach by giving young players an opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage.
In the bowling department, fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain have also been left out. They will be replaced by Jahandad Khan and Mohammad Ali.
