China Welcomes Pakistan Navy’s Second Hangor Class Submarine, “PNS/M SHUSHUK”
The second Hangor-Class submarine, PNS/M SHUSHUK (Desig) was launched at the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Company Ltd. Shuangliu Base in Wuhan, China marking a major advancement for Pakistan’s naval capabilities. The Vice Admiral emphasized that the Hangor Class Submarine Project symbolizes the long standing and enduring relationship between China and Pakistan in addition to strengthening Pakistan’s defense.
Chinese President Xi Jinping signed the deal to purchase eight Hangor Class submarines while in Pakistan for a historic visit. As per the agreement:
- In China, four submarines will be built.
- Under the Transfer of Technology (ToT) program the final four would be constructed in Pakistan at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd (KS&EW).
