The Pakistan Navy’s warship, PNS Hunain, embarked on its maiden voyage from Romania to Pakistan, making a strategic stop in Salalah, Oman, for a bilateral exercise with the Royal Omani Navy, according to Radio Pakistan.
As part of the Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) in the Gulf of Oman, the navies of Pakistan and Oman conducted joint drills earlier this week, showcasing their ability to work together on maritime operations. These exercises are designed to enhance cooperation, improve tactical operations, and boost counter-terrorism capabilities. Pakistan routinely engages in such collaborations with allied navies to promote regional stability and strengthen maritime ties.
Upon Hunain’s arrival at Salalah port, the crew received a warm welcome from the Royal Navy of Oman. During their stay, both navies participated in various bilateral activities and exchange visits, sharing professional expertise. A sea exercise with Oman’s RNOV Sadh further strengthened the interoperability between the two forces.
Hunain is the third of four Yarmook-class corvettes being constructed at the Damen Naval Shipyard in Romania. Its official induction ceremony is set for September 6.
