At a meeting with the Minister for Defence Production, Muhammad Israr Tareen, it was revealed that the Pakistan Ordinance Factories (POF) – the country’s premier defense production organization – not only meets the defense requirements of the armed forces of Pakistan, but also exports its products to more than 40 countries.
The minister visited the POF, where he received a briefing about its production. He was informed that the POF is a sizeable defense production complex with 14 independent production units, 12 subsidiaries, and a total workforce of over 24,000.
It was further communicated that the POF’s industrial base is sufficiently robust to undertake the development and production of nearly all varieties of conventional arms and ammunition.
The minister paid a visit to the POF Products Display Lounge and was impressed by the quality of the displayed products. He praised the efforts of the POF’s engineers, scientists, and workmen for their work in defending the nation.
Upon his arrival at the POF, Israr Tareen was received by POF Board Chairman Lieutenant General Ali Amir Awan and was introduced to the director generals, board members, and senior civil and military officials.
