The federal minister Asad Umar said that the last year witnessed the 2nd-fastest growth in the country. The per capita income of Pakistan is increased by US$200 to US$1666.
Federal Minister Asad Umar was speaking at a press conference in Faisalabad, today.
He also shared that last year saw a record wheat and potatoes production that stood at 27.5 million tons and 5.9 million tonnes respectively. While the potatoes production had only a target of 4.3 million tonnes.
Moreover, Asad Umar said:
“Large scale manufacturing has witnessed a massive growth by one percent”
Furthermore, he also added that the increase in demand for urea was also owing to an increase in its use for harvest.
Asad Umar said while sharing details on economic growth, that:
“Education and IT sector have seen rapid growth recently. Also, Prime Minister has announced the policy for small and medium enterprises, yesterday. Those government policies are essential for creating job opportunities.”
Asad Umar also said in a tweet on January 20, 2022:
“Pakistan National Accounts Committee (NAC) approved a revised estimate of GDP growth for 2020-21. The GDP growth of Pakistan in 2020-21 was 5.37%. This is the 2nd highest growth in the last 14 years.”
Asad Umar also said in his tweet that:
“Higher growth versus provisional estimates which were based on July-March numbers was mainly due to very strong Industrial growth in April-June. And the per capita income of Pakistan is increased by US$200 to US$1666.”
