After completely dominating the Netherlands in a three-match ODI series in Rotterdam, Pakistan has further solidified its position in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-2022/23 points standings.
After defeating the Netherlands in the third one-day international, Pakistan moved up to third place in the Super League points standings, ahead of Afghanistan, while Bangladesh is now separated from Pakistan for second place by net run rate.
According to ICC rules, only the top eight countries would be automatically qualified for the 50-over World Cup in India. As a result, teams like England, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand have increased their chances of qualifying.
The Men in Green have won five out of six three-match ODI series during the past two years. They defeated the West Indies and the Netherlands, won 2-1 against Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Australia, and lost 3-0 to England.
The Babar-led team does not have any ODI series scheduled for the foreseeable future; their next ODI series is against New Zealand in January of 2019.
The club captain and current league leader in runs scored, Babar Azam, has 1,305 runs in 18 innings with an average of 81.56, including six century and seven fifty-plus scores.
