In a step towards overcoming financial losses, Pakistan Railways has decided to increase platform ticket rates with immediate effect.
According to details the PR department raised the price of platform tickets from Rs 10 to Rs 20 at all country railroad stations.
The revised prices will take effect on February 17.
It is important to note that Pakistan Railways has raised rail rates in response to the countrywide increase in the price of petroleum goods.

The train fares were increased by 8% by the railway ministry. Except for the Green Line, the fare rise had been implemented to all trains and all classes.
The government decided to raise the rates as a result, the Railways spokesman said in a statement, adding that the recent increase in diesel costs placed an additional strain of more than Rs10 million per day.
