Pakistan has become the third-highest country where people are suffering. Patients have risen from 14 million in the last two years. As per IDF (International Diabetes Federation) Atlas of Diabetes 10th Edition, Pakistan is home to 33M diabetic patients.
A member of IDF Atlas Committee Prof Abdul Basit said, “Pakistan has surpassed the US in a number of diabetics and now ranks third in the world in the prevalence of diabetes following China and India,”.
The lack of physical activity due to the COVID activity has caused the increase of diabetic patients. In 2019, as per Prof Basit, the number of people diabetic was 19.4 million. Furthermore, he explained that now Pakistan has surpassed the United States which has 32 Million diabetic patients.
