Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has declared Pakistan’s readiness to airlift injured Palestinians for medical treatment in the country. In response to a calling attention notice in the Senate today, he stated that Pakistan is also coordinating with Jordan and Egypt on this matter.

Expressing deep concern over the dire situation in Gaza, the Foreign Minister accused Israel of committing war crimes and genocide, demanding accountability for its actions.

Highlighting Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic efforts, the Foreign Minister mentioned the country’s role at various forums, including the United Nations and the OIC, to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians.

In a separate session, the Senate was informed that the prices of essential commodities are expected to gradually decrease due to the effective policies implemented by the government. Minister for Finance Shamshad Akhtar, during the Question Hour, reported that the government has successfully met the target of primary deficit in line with the stand-by arrangement reached with the IMF. She added that expenditures have also been reduced.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi informed the House that actions have been taken against those involved in selling substandard items, including water, to the public.

The session concluded with the Senate adjourned, set to reconvene on Monday at 3 p.m.
